Importance of Logless VPNs

First of all, VPNs are tools that are supposed to hide your identity. So if they fail to comply with what they say in their Terms of Use, then they also fail you.

You want a VPN service that would be on your side and will do whatever it takes to protect your privacy. No matter how the government forces the provider into spilling consumer data, they would rather close down than be forced to comply with data collection / retention requests – well, that’s the ideal VPN provider in our opinion.

Although in reality, VPNs do keep or monitor certain data for maintenance purposes. But this should not go beyond to selling data to their partners or the government.

Some VPNs Log Activities

Certain VPN services log users‘ data particularly their IP addresses, activities and even personal and financial details. Users may not be aware of it, but they are basically exposing their personal information whenever they are browsing the internet. Everything we do online is logged and monitored (emails, social media, and search history).

Logged data can then be sold to third parties or they could fall into the hands of the government. By now most people may already know about the spying practices that the government is involved with. The government said that such surveillance schemes are only a means to safeguard the well-being of the people. While we can make use of VPN services to hide from government spying, we can’t really trust most of these VPN services.

It’s ironic though that these services or tools we expect to hide us from spying, recording and monitoring practices are culprit themselves in logging your sensitive information. So, are there still trustworthy VPN services that will really protect your privacy? Surely enough, there are still good VPN services out there that won’t log your sessions, keep your data or sell you out to the government or to any party for that matter.
